Sharjah(UAE): South Africa chose to give its lower middle-order some batting practice as its three-day warmup match against Pakistan A ended in a draw on Thursday.
Faf du Plessis scored 42 off 76 balls before being retired out and JP Duminy was caught behind for 23 before the match was called off at tea on the third day with South Africa progressing to 109-3 in its second innings.
Pakistan A resumed at 230-4 and declared its first innings at 311-6 with fast bowler Vernon Philander taking 2-39.
Jacques Kallis, Alviro Petersen, Hashim Amla and AB de Villiers all tuned up for Monday's first test against Pakistan by scoring half centuries in South Africa's strong first innings total of 354-8 declared.
