New Delhi: Former Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Akhtar who is known for his fearsome bowling has reportedly tied the marriage knots. There were reports constantly appearing in the media about his secret marriage, but the cricketer kept denying it.
A private news channel in Pakistan has reported that Akhtar married Rubab in a quiet nikah ceremony in Haripur on twenty fifth June.
The report further said that during the nikkah ceremony the 'haq mehr' was set at Rs500,000 adding that the newly-wed couple had departed from Haripur after the event.
Rubab is from Haripur in the Khyber Pakhtunkhawa province, and has recently taken intermediate examination. The 39-year-old cricketer, popularly known as Rawalpindi Express, had earlier this month refuted the reports regarding his impending marriage saying he was unaware about such news circulating on local media.
The marriage was kept a low key affair and only the close associates and relatives from both the families were invited for the event
