Melbourne: The Australian team received a fresh injury scare when middle-order batsman Shaun Marsh was struck on the hand at a practice session Wednesday.
This was the second injury scenario for the home team ahead of the commencement of third Test on Boxing Day against India after all-rounder Shane Watson was hit on the helmet at the nets Tuesday by a vicious bouncer.
Watson has returned to training Wednesday without any complaints, as reported by the Herald Sun.
Marsh was hit on the left glove by a rising delivery from fast bowler Josh Hazlewood.
He was immediately escorted into the dressing rooms by a concerned team doctor Peter Brukner for assessment.
But the left-handed No.5 returned to bat a few minutes later and his injury is believed to be minor.
