Hambantota, Aug 13: Australia's in-form batsman Shane Watson said Saturday he is not content with hitting half-centuries and is looking to produce some big scores in the current one-day series against Sri Lanka.

As he prepared for Sunday's second ODI in the five-match series, the right-handed opening batsman said he expected Sri Lanka to try different things to dismiss him early and also raised the possibility of fast bowler Lasith Malinga's return to the side.

The Sri Lanka pace man missed the two-match Twenty20 series and the first one-day international because of injury.

"I know that Lasith Malinga has a good chance of coming in this game or the next game,'' said Watson. "He's a big weapon for their team so I know how important it is to get through him because he's got quite a skill of taking wickets.''

"For me, I am really looking forward to be out there and going with a bigger innings, not just getting 50s and 60s. I am looking forward to that challenge.''

In particular, Watson said he would look to exploit the bigger fielding gaps outside the powerplay overs and take more singles.

"That's really the way you are be able to get a bigger score, through that middle period rotating the strike without taking too many risks,'' he said. "That's something I am working on at the moment.''

Watson made 69 off 51 balls as Australia won the opening ODI. He also made an aggressive 57 in the second Twenty20 match, though his dismissal triggered a collapse and a 2-0 series defeat for Australia. AP
