Sharjah: Skipper Sana Mir produced an all-round performance as Pakistan thrashed Sri Lanka by 55 runs in the second Twenty20 International at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium here on Friday.
Batting first, Pakistan raised 124 for six in their 20 overs as Sana top-scored with an attractive 37-ball 48 laced with four boundaries.
Javeria Khan blasted 25 off 21 balls with four hits to the boundary and Nain Abidi contributed 13.
Maduri Samadikka took three wickets for 25 in four overs and Inoka Kanchana took two wickets for 15.
Sri Lanka, in reply, crashed to 69 all out in 15.3 overs. Only Gunaardene (14) and Kanchana (10) could reach double figures.
Opening the bowling with the new ball, Sana was simply phenomenal. The Pakistan captain triggered a dramatic collapse of Sri Lankan batting, as she grabbed four wickets for 14 in her four overs of off-spin. Bismah Maroof claimed two wickets for four. Sadia Yousuf and Sania Khan took one wicket apiece.
