Bridgetown (Barbados): West Indies captain Darren Sammy is one of three players fined by the International Cricket Council, following an altercation during Sunday's first Twenty20 International against England.

Sammy, along with teammate Marlon Samuels and England's Ravi Bopara, were slapped with level one breach of the ICC Code of Conduct, after being reported by on-field umpires Joel Wilson and Peter Nero, reports CVMC.

All three players pleaded guilty.

The incident took place in the 12th over of England's run chase when Bopara made insulting comments towards Samuels, while taking a single.

The ICC statement said Sammy joined in, also trading insults with Bopara.

It required the intervention of Wilson and Nero to end the exchange.

Bopara was fined 25 per cent of his match fee, while Sammy and Samuels were fined 20 and 10 per cent respectively.
