New Delhi: Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar is known for his on-field records on the cricket pitch. However, he has also been involved with various other activities that help promote the game.

In the latest of the series, the legendary batsman today gifted his own autographed bat to the young prodigy Pranav Dhanawade who recently scored a record unbeaten knock of 1009 runs.

The 15-year-old reached the gigantic score of 1009 in just 323 deliveries with a jaw-dropping strike rate of 312.38 in a game against Arya Gurukul in the Bhandari Cup inter-school tournament organised by the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA).

"Sachin Tendulkar is my favourite cricketer," a chirpy Pranav told India TV after achieving the feat. Pranav also got a pat on the back from Sachin after achieving this mind-boggling feat. And what is Sachin's advice to this child prodigy? Keep working hard and scale new peaks!

Pranav has broken a 117-years-old record in the game of cricket. This Mumbai teenager scripted history by becoming the first cricketer ever to notch up a four-figure score by smashing an unbeaten knock of 1,009 in an inter-school tournament. Pranav's knock included 129 fours and 59 sixes during the match at the Union Cricket Academy ground in Kalyan.
