Tendulkar displayed not only his natural talent but also his mental strength as he scored a sublime maiden Test century in the fourth innings at Old Trafford. Set 408 runs to win, India looked certain to lose the match after collapsing to 183 for six, but Tendulkar guided his side to safety with an imperious 119 not out from 189 balls.
