Colombo, Sri Lanka,July 31: Sri Lanka has rested three key players and is set to experiment with a new-look squad in the final one-day international against South Africa, having secured the five-match series 3-1.
Sri Lanka Cricket said in a statement that batsman Mahela Jayawardene and the two leading wicket takers, fast bowler Lasith Malinga and spin bowler Rangana Herath, have been rested for the match today.
Specialist opening batsmen Kusal Perera and Dimuth Karunaratne return to the side having been dropped for the first four matches.
Uncapped left-arm seamer Vumukthi Perera and left-arm spin bowler Chaturanga de Silva have been included in a 15-member squad.
Batsmen Upul Tharanga and Jehan Mubarak, who were part of the squad for the first four matches, have been dropped.
