Mohali: The Indian team management today released Rohit Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Stuart Binny from the Test team so that they can play the next Ranji Trophy match for their respective sides.

The three players had played in the ODI series, that India lost 2-3 to the visitors, but were omitted from the playing XI for the first Test in Mohali.

Rohit and Bhuvaneshwar will be up against each other when Mumbai host Uttar Pradesh from November 7. Binny will join Karnataka which will take on Odisha in Mysore.

"The players will rejoin the Indian Test team before the start of the second Test of the Paytm Freedom Trophy in Bangalore. Punjab Ranji trophy players, Gurkeerat Singh Mann and Mandeep Singh will assist the Indian Team as reserve players during the first Test Match at Mohali," a BCCI release said.

Rohit and Binny were part of the XI in the last Test match India played against Sri Lanka in Colombo earlier this year. Rohit made 26 and 50 in the match while Binny scored 49 and took two useful wickets.

But with India playing five bowlers and with a spinner being preferred as the fifth bowler, there was no place for them in Mohali.
