Mumbai, Jan 8: Abhishek Nayar, Rameez Nemat, Ishank Jaggi and Aarpit Vasavada smashed hundreds on day two of the Ranji Trophy quarter-finals Monday.
Nayar (122 not out) helped Mumbai amass 524 for six against Baroda here at the Wankhede Stadium after hundreds from Wasim Jaffer (150) and Sachin Tendulkar (108).
The southpaw was batting alongside Ankeet Chavan (17) at the close of play. Mumbai started the day at 272 for three.
Jharkhand, resuming at 195 for three, went on to make 310 for six against Punjab thanks to centuries from Nemat (100) and Jaggi (126 not out) at the Keenan Stadium in Jamshedpur. Nemat could only add three runs to his overnight score.
In Rajkot, Saurashtra ended their innings at 469 against Karnataka with Vasavada (152 not out) batting till the end. Karnataka were 45 for no loss in reply with Robin Uthappa (29) and Lokesh Rahul (12) at the crease.
Uttar Pradesh did well to dismiss the Services for 263 and were 138 for four in their second innings, leading by nine runs. They were bowled out for 134 on the opening day in a game played in Indore.
