Mysore: Karnataka took a vital 60-run first innings lead over Jharkhand to assure themselves of vital points by stumps on the third and penultimate day of the Group A Ranji Trophy league match here Saturday.
Replying to Jharkhand's first innings total of 364, Karnataka declared at 424 for seven with a clutch of half-centuries up and down the order, led by opener Mayank Agarwal (90, 144b, 12x4, 1x6) as the hosts showcased their batting might.
In their second knock, Jharkhand were four without loss and intent on denying Karnataka a possible outright victory on the final day Sunday.
