Panaji, Oct 22: Rains may play a spoilsport for the One Day International (ODI) between India-Australia to be played at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa on Sunday.
State meteorological department officials told PTI this afternoon that rains are likely to occur in next 48 hours in several parts of the state.
Met Department Director K V Singh said circulation off Maharashtra coast which is drifting towards South Konkan and Goa has created cloudy condition in the state.
Singh said the monsoons are yet to withdraw from the state and it is likely to rain in next 48 hours.
"The circulation off-Maharashtra is getting stronger," he said.
The state has been witnessing continuous rainfall even in October month. The Department has recorded 191.7 mm rains in this month.
ODI series between India and Australia had a damp start with the first match at Kochi washed out.
The second match at Vizag was won by India taking 0-1 lead in the series of three matches.
