New Delhi: Despite being under fire for poor performance in the recently concluded Ashes series which England lost 0-5,  Kevin Pietersen has no intention to hang his boots and wishes to help England regain the Ashes in 2015.

In his tweets Pietersen  thanked the England supporters this morning in Sydney and used social media to give an insight into his mindset as his international future hangs in the balance.

He retweeted to his 1.5 million followers Michael Vaughan's Daily Telegraph column in which he urged England to make him vice-captain and not the scapegoat for the 5-0 defeat. He also tweeted a story by Sky stating he had committed himself to England.

“I want to thank all the England fans for their terrific support,” he wrote. “And I'm determined to help regain the Ashes in 2015. Very disappointed to lose 5-0, and not to score more runs personally. Tough tour against a top class team.”

With Andy Flower and Alastair Cook keeping their jobs, Pietersen knows he could be the most high profile casualty of the Ashes whitewash. He has no real supporters at the ECB, his relationship with Flower is non-existent and he has to hope Cook wants him to remain part of the set-up or his days are numbered.

Pietersen leaves his England team-mates tomorrow after being rested for the one-day series and in his absence the review into England's abject showing in Australia will get underway.
