Islamabad: Pakistan fast bowler Sohail Khan has been ruled out of the one-day series against Bangladesh due to a back injury a day before the team was scheduled to depart for Dhaka.
The Pakistan Cricket Board says Sunday that Khan complained of pain in his back during a practice match and following an MRI was advised to rest for at least 2-3 weeks.
Chief selector Haroon Rasheed has named left-arm fast bowler Junaid Khan as replacement. Junaid Khan was already scheduled to compete in a one-off Twenty20 game and two test matches against Bangladesh.
Sohail Khan took 12 wickets in the World Cup.
The three-match ODI series begins in Mirpur next Friday. The Pakistan team will leave for Dhaka on Monday.
