Mumbai, Dec 14: At the age of six and a half years, Musheer Khan, a student of Anjuman Islam High School(Urdu) yesterday became India's youngest cricketer to take part in inter-school cricket.
Musheer played for his school against Shailendra Education Society, Dahisar, for the Giles Shield Under-14 inter-school tournament.
A left-arm spinner, Musheer is playing against students double his age. He thinks, eats and sleeps cricket, says his father Naushad Khan, who is coaching him.
Naushad has coached the likes of Iqbal Abdullah (Mumbai Ranji player), Rahil Shaikh (Mumbai Ranji player), Karman Khan (Rajasthan Royals) and his own son Sarfaraz Khan (Mumbai Under 16).
