Karachi: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will announce a new national selection committee early next month, but Moin Khan will continue to work as the chief selector.

The PCB Chairman Shaharyar Khan told the media after the meeting of the Board of Governors in Lahore that four new selectors would be announced early next month to work with Moin.

"Moin will continue to work as chief selector and manager of the national team till the World Cup," Khan said.

Just 24 hours ago, in an interview to a private television channel, Khan had said that the board was considering a senior bureaucrat, Naved Akram Cheema to manage the team in the World Cup.

The PCB chief had said that the board was waiting for Naved Cheema to be released by the Punjab government as chief secretary of the province to appoint him as manager. But apparently things didn't work out as expected.

Khan made it clear that Moin will continue to function in his dual roles till the World Cup.

"Moin, Mushtaq Ahmed and Aisha Ashar will continue to do their dual jobs but seven other employees of the board who have are doing dual jobs have been told to choose one position," he said.

While Moin is chief selector and manager, former Test leg spinner, Mushtaq is bowling coach with the national cricket academy in Lahore and also spin bowling consultant of the national team.

Khan said the board had decided not to take away one responsibility from Moin and Mushtaq since they were doing a good job with the national team and the board didn't want the team management set up to be disturbed till the World Cup.

Pakistan's former pacer and until recently bowling coach of the national team, Muhammad Akram has been told to decide whether he wants to work as head coach of the NCA or as a national selector.

Khan also announced that suspended off-spinner, Saeed Ajmal would undergo another private biomechanic test in the UK next week after which he would be asked to play domestic matches.

"After he does that we will request the ICC to carry out his official test," said Khan, adding he was hopeful that his bowling action issue would be resolved before the PCB has to send final squad for the World Cup to the ICC in first week of January.
