Harare, Zimbabwe: Mitchell Marsh produced a devastating display to push Australia to 282-7 in 50 overs against South Africa in the one-day triangular series in Zimbabwe on Tuesday.
Marsh hammered seven sixes in his 86 not out as Australia hopes to avoid a third straight loss in the tournament.
Opener Phil Hughes gave the Australians some early momentum with his 85 after they were put in to bat at Harare Sports Club. But with the innings meandering, Marsh launched his assault. He hit three sixes in a row down the ground off top-ranked fast bowler Dale Steyn and clubbed two maximums in the final over to give the under-pressure Australians a solid total to defend.
Australia has lost two in a row, including a three-wicket defeat to minnow Zimbabwe on Sunday.
