Sydney , Dec 02 : Former test legspinner Stuart MacGill will come out of retirement aged 40 to play for the Sydney Sixers in Australia's Big Bash Twenty20 series later this month.
MacGill quit professional cricket during Australia's tour to the West Indies in 2008 and after playing 44 tests, mainly in the shadow of test great Shane Warne. The former spin rivals may now square off when Warne's Melbourne Stars face MacGill's Sydney side in Sydney on Dec. 27.
Warne and former test opener Matthew Hayden and Brad Hogg have already signed to play in the Big Bash which runs from Dec. 16 to Jan. 28.
