It was the skipper of the English cricket team Alastair Cook who at the end of the over went to Broad and congratulated Broad at his achievement.
Speaking about the hat-trick going unnoticed, Broad said: "I heard that bloke on the Tannoy and was wondering why he mentioned the last ball of the previous over. That's when I realised it was a hat-trick."
The previous bowlers to take two Test hat-tricks were High Tumble, Jimmy Matthews and Wasim Akram.
The first time Stuart Broad took a hat-trick was against India at Trent Bridge where he brought England back into contention after he had Mahendra Dhoni caught in the slips, Harbhajan Singh trapped leg before wicket and Praveen Kumar clean bowled in successive balls to get his first hat-trick.
He was overall twelfth English cricketer to get a hat-trick. Wasim Akram achieved this feat in 1999 against Sri Lanka. Jimmy Matthews of Australia achieved this feat in 1912 against South Africa in the same match. Hugh Trumble again of Australia has achieved this feat in 1902 and 1904 and in the receiving end was England.
