Cape Town, South Africa: South Africa has recalled Jacques Kallis to its one-day squad for a series against Pakistan and India, putting the veteran allrounder in line to play his first ODI in nearly two years.
Kallis replaces Twenty20 captain Faf du Plessis in a 14-man squad named Thursday by Cricket South Africa ahead of three games against Pakistan and three against India.
Pakistan-born legspinner Imran Tahir was also retained at the expense of Robin Peterson.
Graeme Smith returned to the squad after leaving the recent tour of the United Arab Emirates with post-concussion syndrome after being hit on the head by a bouncing delivery.
The 38-year-old Kallis played the last of his 321 ODIs at home against New Zealand in February 2012 and has been rested from the short format since.
