Wellington, New Zealand, Oct 30: Troubled batsman Jesse Ryder marked his return to first class cricket in New Zealand on Tuesday with a century from 101 balls for Wellington against Central Districts.


 

Ryder went on to make an unbeaten 117 from 113 balls in his first innings for Wellington he put his international and domestic careers on hold in February.

The 28-year-old left-hander took a break from all cricket after being censured for breaking New Zealand team rules by drinking alcohol while injured following a one-day international against South Africa on Feb. 29.

He played for the Pune Warriors in the Indian Premier League but did not seek a renewal of his contract with New Zealand Cricket, choosing instead to take a break from the game to tackle personal and fitness issues.
