South African all-rounder Jacques Kallis completed his 32nd Test century as the home team made  262 runs for the loss of four wickets at close on Day One of the Centurion Test against England.

Kallis faced 177 balls to make his century with the help of 13 boundaries and a sixer, and he finished the day at 112 not out.

JP Duminy kept Kallis company with 38 not out. The left-hander provided the stroke of the session with a delightfully struck six over long-on from Graeme Swann's off-spin.
England has more woes in store as their fast bowler Onions had a strained right calf. He did not take the field immediately after tea, and, although he did return after nine overs of the session, he did not bowl until the final three overs of the day.

Earlier, skipper Graeme Smith fell in the second over of the day without scoring, He was caught by Prior off a ball from Broad.  Next to go was Hashim Amla in the 21st over, who was caught by Collingwood off Onions after he had made 19 runs.

Ashwell Prince went in the 35th over. He made 45 before he was caught again by Collingwood off a ball from Swann. A B de Villiers  made 32 before he was scalped by Swann with Cook taking the catch.
