London, Aug 22: Rahul Dravid has been known for presenting dead bat to any question that can court controversy but India's best batsman in a one line statement after the 0-4 whitewash revealed all about what went wrong during the series.

“It might take half an hour!” the veteran who scored 461 runs with three centuries said with a wry smile when asked about what was that one thing that went wrong for India.

When Michael Atherton asked whether one can again see him playing Test cricket in England, Dravid was non-committal, “One series at a time.”

Dravid under whose leadership India had defeated England in Test series in 2007 said he is at a stage in his career where he needs to make significant contribution.

“There are lot of youngsters in the reckoning and it's important for me to keep making significant contribution to team's cause. It's bitter sweet feeling to have scored these runs. Prior to this series, I played well in West Indies and that gave me a lot of confidence. It is one of my better efforts,” the Bangalorean said.

He admitted that England “outplayed” them in every department of the game.

“England are deservedly the No 1 ranked side in the world. This is one of the best sides I have played against who have all their key areas well covered. We should have played a lot better as we did expect a tough series,” Dravid stated. PTI
