Nagpur, Apr 16: Delhi Daredevils fast bowler Umesh Yadav was engaged to 23-year-old Delhi girl Tanya Wadhwa at a brief ceremony at his residence here on Monday.
"I feel it was the right time for me to settle down", said Yadav after the ceremony.
"I was yet to play international cricket when I met Tanya. She is a nice, and simple girl. I proposed to her earlier this year. You can say it's an arranged love marriage,
I have been playing continuously for the last five years and feel I can take care of my family.
" It is not a case of love at first sight. We have spent a lot of time together since the last three years." Yadav said.
Umesh and Tanya have been friends since last three years.
Soon after the ring exchange ceremony, Umesh left for Bangalore in the evening, where Daredevils will play RCB on Tuesday.
The wedding will be on May 29 at a Nagpur hotel.
Tanya is going to complete her course in Fashion Retail and Merchandise.
"We have been together for some time now. Now, we understand each other's strengths and weaknesses", said Tanya.
