New Delhi, May 20: Delhi Police Special Cell has put two more IPL6 matches involving Rajasthan Royals under the scanner, as it suspects spot fixing led to the defeat of the team, which it could have easily won.
One of the matches under the scanner is that of Rajasthan Royals versus Delhi Daredevils, played in the previous edition on April 29, 2012.
It was the 39th IPL match of the year, which RR lost dramatically after being in control throughout the match. RR needed 15 runs from last two overs with nine wickets in hand, but lost the match by one run. Delhi Daredevils posted 152 for 6 after Amit Singh gave away 41 runs and Ankeet Chavan, presently under arrest, gave away 31 runs off their four overs.
The police said the arrest of Amit Singh, alias Amit Kumar, has led them to a minefield of information, giving them clues about more matches that may have been fixed.
This year's May 3 match between RR and Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens of Kolkata is also under the scanner.
Police say, they suspect RR players may have obliged the bookies in this match too. Ankeet Chavan opened the bowling and conceded 28 runs in his three overs.
