Mumbai, May 25: A Mumbai court today sent Chennai Super Kings honcho Gurunath Meiyappan to police custody till May 29.
Mumbai Police crime branch had sought seven days police remand for Meiyappan.
During arguments lasting more than 90 minutes, lawyers for Meiyappan described the charges levelled by Mumbai Police as incorrect and unfair.
The lawyers said, Meiyappan wanted to fully cooperate in the probe, and was ready to return on Monday for further questioning.
The lawyers argued that their client had been forcibly arrested and slapped with charges under different sections.
Meiyappan was produced before the court in the afternoon, after he was place under arrest on Friday night by crime branch.
