Ahmedabad, Jul 12: Bollywood producer Prakash Chandani was today detained by immigration officials at Sardar Vallabhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad on his return from Dubai. He was detained for his alleged role in an Indian Premier League betting racket.
Co-producer of film 'Gali-Gali Chor Hai', Chandani, against whom a lookout notice was released by the investigating agencies, was detained after he arrived at the airport on an Emirates flight from Dubai.
Later he was handed over to the Sardarnagar police station.
The police officials confirmed they have the custody of Chandani, who is wanted in a case related to forgery in Mumbai. He will be taken to Mumbai soon, they said.
Chandani was staying in Dubai and is said to be working as the second-in-command to top bookie Sunil Abhuchandani alias Sunil Dubai, police said.
