The organisers of the Indian Premier League revealed the highly-anticipated marquee players list for the upcoming IPL 2025 mega auction on Friday. Twelve players are divided into two sets with 11 players setting their base price to Rs 2 crore each.
The list includes five overseas stars David Miller, Jos Buttler, Kagiso Rabada, Mitchell Starc and Liam Livingstone. As predicted earlier, the star Indian wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant has been slotted in the first set as he is expected to clinch the biggest contract in Jeddah on November 24 and 25.
Shreyas Iyer, who led Kolkata Knight Riders to the IPL 2024 title, and India's ace pacer Arshdeep Singh are also in the first set of marquee players. The former Lucknow Super Giants captain KL Rahul finds himself in the second set.
Indian fast bowlers Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj are also included in the marquee players' sets along with the star spinner Yuzvendra Chahal.
Surprisingly, some of the biggest names in T20I cricket are missing the marquee players' set. The veteran Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin and the two-time Purple Cap-winner Bhuvneshwar Kumar are the biggest Indian names missing the list.
Ishan Kishan, who was snapped for Rs 15.50 crore by Mumbai Indians in the 2022 mega auction, is another notable absentee in the marquee list.
