Sydney: Batsman Adam Voges has a lower back injury and won't play in the Australia Invitational XI against England beginning Wednesday.
Cricket Australia said in a statement Tuesday that Voges will be replaced by 20-year-old New South Wales batsman Kurtis Patterson.
The four-day match at the Sydney Cricket Ground is England's last warm-up ahead of the first Ashes test beginning Nov. 21 in Brisbane.
