London, June 10: India has vetoed the use of the umpire review system during the test series against England this summer.

The England and Wales Cricket Board wanted to use the Decision Review System in the four-match series but Indian cricket's governing body was opposed to the technology.

The ECB says on Friday "the Board for Control of Cricket in India haven't agreed to the use of the technology in this series."

Under International Cricket Council regulations, there has to be agreement between both countries for the review system to be used in a series.

India has been reluctant to use the DRS since its launch in 2009.

The first test between India and England takes place at Lord's from July 21-25. AP
