New Delhi: After being at the receiving end in the T20 internationals and ODIs, Team India under the leadership of Virat Kohli will look to finally defeat South Africa in the upcoming four match Test series. India will play the first test match starting from November 5 at Mohali.

Team India's test captain Virat Kohli will once again have a tough task of defeating the tough South African side that remained undefeated on tour since July 2006. South Africa has played 15 series and have won 10 and drawn five in various countries .

During this period, South Africa, on away series, has played 37 Tests and have won 18, lost five and drawn 14.

However, it can be said that it will be a close encounter between both the sides as Team India has won 17 Test match series out of 25 that it has played at home since 2000.

The exciting battle between both the teams will have the history on their side.

Team India will begin the test campaign against South Africa at Mohali. If the record at The Punjab Cricket Association Stadium at Mohali is looked at, Virat Kohli can feel optimistic about.

Team India has remained unbeaten at this particular ground in the last 10 test matches that have been played over a span of last 21 years.  India received a defeat in 1994 at the hands of West Indies by a margin of 243 runs.

Virat Kohli who has shown his aggressive stint as a captain during Team India's historic win at the Sri Lankan soil after a gap of 22 years will certainly look to start the campaign on a wining note.

Both the teams will try to take the initiative of winning the first match of the four test match series.

It will be a huge psychological advantage for Team India and Virat Kohli if they manage to start on a winning note against a South African Team which till now had a good tour on the Indian soil.

Last time when South Africa had came to India it was a drawn Test series. Both the sides had won a test match  in the two match test series.

But this time around a result can be expected as the number of Test matches has increased to four and Virat Kohli's positive intent to go for results in the five day match. Yeah. The Indian skipper has already said that draw is the last option in a test match. You have to risk losing to win Test matches.
