Dubai: India might be lagging way behind Australia in the Test rankings but the current World Cup holders are just 0.2 points behind the top-of-the-table Kangaroos in the ODI chart, according to the latest ICC release.

Both Australia and India are on 117 rating points and the scores will only be settled in the upcoming tri-series involving the two tams and England starting January 18 next year.

South Africa lie third in the table with 112 points followed by Sri Lanka, England, Pakistan and West Indies.

In the batting chart, Virat Kohli continues to hold his own at the second position as South Africa's AB de Villers stays atop.

Shikhar Dhawan though drops a rank to fifth, while skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni also drops down a slot to ninth position.

In the bowling chart though, India's Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who recently returned home after an ankle injury in Australia, is the only one to feature in the list led by Saeed Ajmal.

Bhuvneshwar (8th ranked), who was ruled out for the first two Tests against Australia, may miss the four-match series as Dhawal Kulkarni has already flown in as replacement.

On the international front, England's Joe Root and Sachithra Senanayake of Sri Lanka have achieved career-best rankings following the conclusion of the seven-match series, which Sri Lanka won by 5-2.

Root finished the series as the second leading run-getter with 367 runs for which he has been rewarded with a jump 14 places in the batting chart. This has now put him in 11th spot, a position he shares with Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews.

In bowlers list, Senanayake was the highest-mover from either side after taking five wickets for 68 runs in two ODIs. The 29-year-old off-spinner has vaulted 18 places to a career-high seventh position, 22 ratings points behind England's James Anderson.
