Adelaide: India bowled first on Thursday in its two-day game against a Cricket Australia XI at Adelaide's Glenelg Oval to prepare for the start of Tuesday's first test against Australia.
There was no toss, with the India side granted its wish of sending the CA XI in under overcast skies.
It will allow Virat Kohli, Murali Vijay and Rohit Sharma—all returning from New South Wales state after attending Phillip Hughes' funeral—to bat later in the match.
The two sides lined up for a minute's silence before play, while both sides are wearing black armbands to honor Hughes.
