New Delhi: Mohmmad Shami today had opener Kieran Powell caught by Bhuveshwar Kumar at mid off at Eden Gardens.
Powell tried pulling the well-directed bouncer delivered by Shami. However, he only managed to sway it in the air and Kumar ran back from Mid-off to catch it.
India received a leap forward after Kumar had opener Chris Gayle caught by Murali Vijay.
West Indies captain Darren Sammy today won the toss and elected to bat first. Sammy said ``it's tricky to assess how the surface will play but all the guys are ready''.
