Nottingham: Indian batsman Rohit Sharma has been ruled out of the remaining three one-dayers and the one-off Twenty20 against England after sustaining a fracture in the middle finger of his right hand.
According to a BCCI release, Rohit, who made a gutsy 52 while opening for India in the second ODI, will be replaced by Murali Vijay in the Indian squad.
Vijay, who will join the ODI squad in England at the earliest, was the teams' highest run-getter in the five-match Test series, which Team India lost 3-1.
The Tamil Nadu batsman scored a ton and two half-centuries in the 10 innings that he opened for the visitors.
