Team India although looks to be in the prime form in the current tournament after having a dismal season in the 2013 and even till the recently concluded Asia Cup.But now it looks to be a completely different team altoghether. With its maverick captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni taking the reigns of the team in his hands.Senior players like Yuvraj Singh and Suresh Raina finding their form and touch is a good omen for team India.Yuvraj after a series of failures finally got back to his form in the last league match against Australia when his team needed his contribution the most. The Southpaw made an impressive 43 ball 60 runs. Team India has been the only team to win all the league matches in the group and showing the signs that helped them become the champions in 2007.In the semis Team India face the south African challenge which is another team looking to get to their prime at the right time. The semi final hurdle for team India will be the rainbow nation who really does have the capacity to create the biggest upset of ICC world T20.The Semi-final which is a knock out can be pretty tricky and deceptive. A slight slip up can be very much costly. So it is utmost necessary that team India should look to bridge and close any chinks in its armour.The failure of the opener :Shikhar Dhawan who has almost cemented his placed at the top of batting order has performed below par till now.He has score of 30,0,01, against his name in the three outings of the ICC world T20.He was rested in the game against Australia where Ajikya Rahane got the chance to open the innings. But Shikhar needs to fire at the top if Team India hopes of laying its hand on the World T20 trophy.The tragedy of short Ball: Team India till now in the tournament has not required to face any tear away pace bowler in its group. But with South Africa in the opposition Team India can be rest assured of getting the short ball stuff.The express bowling of Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel will definitely look to wreck havoc in the famed Indian batting line up. Cannot be complacent: The three easy wins in the league round can made team India a bit complacent. So far India has defeated Pakistan and West Indies by seven wickets, host nation Bangladesh by eight wickets and Australia by 73 runs.It is not that Team India were given a walk in the park during the tournament but the fact cannot be ignored that it was due to the bowling brilliance that the batting line up was not tested so closely. Team India should be mentally prepared to face any tough condition against the team with a great fighting ability, South Africans.
