South Africa is all set to host the 15th edition of the ICC U19 World Cup 2024 from Friday, January 19. Ireland and the United States of America will clash in the opening game at Mangaung Oval, Bloemfontein while the hosts South Africa are facing West Indies in the second match at Senwes Park, Potchefstroom on Friday.
In a major change to format, sixteen teams are divided into four groups and the top three teams from each group will qualify for the Super Six stages. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-final and the final will be played on February 11.
The defending champions India are placed in Group A with Ireland, Bangladesh and USA. Indian youngsters will kick off their campaign against Bangladesh on January 20 at Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein.
Six venues from Benoni, Potchefstroom, Bloemfontein, Benoni, Kimberley and East London will host all games. Each game will begin at 10:30 AM local time (1:30 PM IST).
