Panaji, Dec 2 : Bollywood actress Neetu Chandra, who was dragged into the latest match-fixing controversy, has said that she has not seen a single cricket match in her life.
"I haven't watched a single cricket match throughout my lifetime. I am not a cricketer.I am a basketball player. There is absolutely no base for whatever is being spoken about me," Neetu told PTI here.
"There are hundreds and crores of people who know me... my fans do call me... I don't know where they are and with whom they are connected," said the dusky actress, who is in Goa to compere the concluding function of IFFI.
She said it was just a 90-second call from abroad that was blown out of proportion.
"What if someone calls me for 90 seconds in a year? I get 10 calls everyday. I thought it (getting involved in such a scandal) was a waste of time and it was not wise to invest my energy in it," said the actress, who has worked in movies like 'Garam Masala' and 'Traffic Signal'.
Neetu's alleged involvement in the match fixing came out in the open when Interpol and Scotland Yard recently handed over the mobile details of Pakistani player Mohammad Asif to Pakistan Cricket Board for investigations.
The document was prepared by the two agencies on the basis of information given by Pakistani actress Veena Malik.
"Its easy to get anyone's number and call," the 26-year -old actress said adding that the controversy could have been around anyone and she should not be labelled with any slur.
"I have more things to my life than getting involved in match fixing. Acting makes me happy and thats what I do." PTI
