Lehmann attempted to explain the context of his comments, which were made on a light-hearted radio programme.
'He (Lehmann) came across and said, ‘I meant it in jest' and I said, "in black and white it doesn't look like jest to me",' Broad recalled.
'He said something along the lines of, "listen to the interview" and I said, "I have far better things to do with my time", and that was about it.
'We shared a nice beer and I said, "see you in November".'
Broad claimed 22 wickets at 27.45 in the July-August series, including 11 wickets in the fourth Test at Chester-le-Street.
