Kingston (Jamaica), June 18 : Explosive batsman Chris Gayle was once again left out, while fast bowler Fidel Edwards made his return to the 13-member West Indies squad named for the first Test against India starting on Monday.
West Indies have three pacemen in Kemar Roach, Ravi Rampaul and Edwards in the squad to take advantage of a Sabina Park pitch which is expected to offer a fair degree of bounce.
Edwards has played 43 Tests for West Indies and picked up 122 wickets. He hasn't been part of West Indies team for the last two years after picking up a back injury during West Indies' campaign in the world Twenty20 in England in 2009.
He rushed his rehabilitation by turning out for Deccan Chargers in the Champions League and promptly picked up yet another injury. PTI
