Pune: Parineeta Ankola, wife of former Test cricketer and actor Salil Ankola today committed suicide by hanging herself in her home here.
At the time of suicide, she was alone, police said.
She left a suicide note on which was written: "I am fed up of my life. Nobody is responsible for my death. My parents have been nice to me. My children are now older and my responsibility is now over."
Parineeta had a turbulent married life. She was separated from her husband four years ago, after Salil Ankola became addicted to alcohol.
Salil Ankola, who retired from cricket in 1996, and started acting in films and TV serials, had sent her a legal notice to his wife of 18 years in 2010 through his lawyer.
Parineeta was staying with her parents on Shankarshet Road in Pune snce 2008 while Salil lived in Mumbai.
The notice for divorce had stated that "various factors have led to a breakdown of marital relationship".
