Islamabad: Pakistan has recalled fast bowler Sohail Khan while including Mohammad Hafeez as a specialist opening batsman in its 15-man Cricket World Cup squad on Wednesday.
The 30-year-old Khan was not among the 30-man preliminary squad, but forced his way back into the team after four years with his recent form in domestic matches.
Hafeez has been suspended from bowling in internationals, and could not clear unofficial testing of his bowling action in India last week.
The selectors have also included legspinner Yasir Shah as backup to Shahid Afridi, while middle-order batsman Sohaib Maqsood returns after recovering from a hand injury.
The team, led by Misbah-ul-Haq, includes two opening batsmen, five middle-order batsmen, five fast bowlers, two spinners, and wicketkeeper Sarfraz Ahmed.
