London, Oct 24: English cricket is searching for a new shirt sponsor for its national teams after Brit Insurance said it would not renew its contract beyond 2014.
The insurance company became England's sponsor in 2010 on a four-year deal, in which time the team rose to the top of the test and one-day rankings and won the World Twenty20 tournament.
The England and Wales Cricket Board said Monday that the Brit Group decided to end the deal after undergoing "a fundamental structural and strategic change in its business with its interests being more global in nature."
The contract will run out after the Ashes series against Australia in 2013-14.
John Perera, commercial director for the ECB, says "our search for a new sponsor will begin immediately and we anticipate significant interest."
