CHITTAGONG, Bangladesh: England has been fined for maintaining a slow over rate during its World Twenty20 win against Sri Lanka at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.
The International Cricket Council announced the sanction on Friday, a day after the match.
Match referee David Boon imposed a fine of 40 percent of the match fee on captain Stuart Broad, and 20 percent on the rest of the team, for being two overs short of the target.
Broad faces a one-match suspension if England repeats the offence in the next 12 months.
