London: England all-rounder Moeen Ali has come out in open in support of under fire Alastair Cook saying there is no suggestion that the England one-day team are not behind captain Alastair Cook.

After riding out a tough examination of his leadership in the Test series, Cook is now experiencing scrutiny in the shorter form.

His men have lost all three games not affected by the weather in the current series with India and will be whitewashed if they are beaten at Headingley on Friday.

With the World Cup around the corner, Cook has faced more calls to stand down, but Moeen says there is no desire within the camp to see him uprooted.

'He's been the same as he was (in the Tests),' the all-rounder said.

'He's been exactly the same with the lads. He's been Cooky, trying to get everyone playing well, trying to do well for himself and I'm sure he can do that and play well.

'There's still a lot to play for, players are playing for places and to win a game for England is important.

'He's been the same, trying to get us to stick together, working hard and executing a plan.'

When asked if the players felt they were playing to ease the pressure on Cook he added: 'A little bit. We are playing for England, he's the captain and whatever he says we do.

'He's got all our backing and like any other game for England we're trying to do our best.'
