New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday appointed Indian stalwarts Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman to its newly-constituted Cricket Advisory Committee.

Apart from giving suggestions to the board while making critical decisions, the three of India's fab four will have the additional responsibility of batting mentor, planning overseas success and strengthening the bench.

But one other name which was missing here was of Rahul Dravid. Cricket fans might not be pleased with the exclusion of ‘The-Wall' from the panel after his name was making rounds a week ago.

After the BCCI's Working Committee meeting on April 26, it was suggested that the board was keen on availing the services of Tendulkar, Ganguly and Dravid as advisors.

However as quoted by English daily Hindustan Times, some BCCI officials say that Dravid may have declined for reasons other than cricket.

“He (Dravid) might not be comfortable working with Ganguly and that's why he is not in the list,” an official said.

Moreover, India's former no. 3 batsman never said a clear Yes or No for the job as well.

Both Dravid and Ganguly made their Test debut together in 1996 against England at Lord's but they never share the best of relationships and the captaincy issue during former coach Greg Chappell's reign is a big example.

BCCI officials say that since the new advisory committee has been formed, now it is unlikely that the new Team India coach succeeding Duncan Flethcer will be appointed before 10th June when India will play Test against Bangladesh.
