Ranchi, Apr 5 : India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni keenly followed Sachin Tendulkar play during the 1992 World Cup in Australia, one of his friends said today.
“Dhoni was just 11-year-old then. He was so keen a follower of Tendulkar that he used to get up early during the 1992 World Cup to watch his childhood hero Tendulkar
batting,” said a close friend of Dhoni.
“The moment Tendulkar gets out, Dhoni also goes back to sleep,” he said.
Nineteen years on, Dhoni must be feeling nostalgic leading a team that still has Tendulkar, who termed him as the best captain under whom he has played.
Tendulkar yesterday praised Dhoni, saying that he has always been calm and never showed his frustration. PTI
