Agra: Indian ODI skipper and honorary Lieutenant Colonel Mahendra Singh Dhoni has formally begun a fortnight-long session at the Para Training School (PTS) in Agra.
Defence ministry spokesman Group Captain Basant B. Pandey, who shared this information with the media on Friday evening, also tweeted and posted a photograph of Dhoni during a training session.
He will attend theory classes for the next five days, then undergo stringent tests and ground training rituals, before para-jumping from the Malpura base.
He has to complete five jumps at the 50 Independent Para Brigade base.
Sources said the parachute, known as round canopy static line, to be used by Dhoni will weigh 22 kilos.
The Agra PTS has a reputation of providing the finest Para-troopers who have played pivotal role in the Bangladesh Liberation War as well as Sri Lanka and Maldives operations.
