Melbourne, May 18: Cricket Australia (CA) is investigating a Twitter rant by cricketer David Warner, who launched a scathing attack on reputed Australian cricket writers Robert Craddock and Malcolm Conn.
"CA is aware of comments made on David Warner's twitter account overnight. CA is attempting to contact Warner and will continue to investigate the matter. CA will make further comment once it has conducted a thorough investigation," said a CA statement.
Warner, who is playing for Delhi Daredevils in the Indian Premier League (IPL), took exceptions of a piece written by Craddock on the alleged spot-fixing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) after the arrest of three Rajasthan Royals cricketers.
It was still not confirmed if the opener had sent the tweets, which were laden with vitriol towards Craddock, Conn and the media in general.
Warner on this social netrowking site Twitter said: "Shock me @crashcraddock1 talking shit about ipl jealous prick. Get a real job. All you do is bag people. #getalife".
Conn, responded saying: "@davidwarner31 cricket is a real job? Please. Most people pay to play. Million dollar cricketers milking the IPL are hardly the best judges."
Warner continued his tirade against Craddock saying: ''All he did was talk shit about the greats now he sucks up there ass. Talk more crap why don't you".
Warner's other tweets on Conn were: "@malcolmconn keep writing paper talk trash for a living champ only thing you will ever do" and "@malcolmconn are you still talking you old fart, no wonder know one buys your paper".
Conn also responded saying: "@davidwarner31 You lose 4-0 in India, don't make a run, and you want to be tickled on the tummy? Win the Ashes and get back to me."
He also added: "It's becoming increasingly obvious why Brad Haddin was brought back as vice captain. Your lengths behind in that race".
